I finally finished this spoon with the arrival of my @flexcut.tools carving knives. They made quick work of the finishing cuts and made sanding a breeze. There’s some tool marks left but honestly - I like that! It maintains the handcarved look of the spoon that makes it all the more special … I think this one is just going to hang on my wall :)

Spoon blank was purchased from @thorneandanchor - I absolutely adore his work and yes, I could cut my own blanks, but i wanted to support a person whose work inspires me as I got started :) check him out!

These are the moments :) Finn talked me into staying up late to make a gift for his bus driver. It was past his bedtime and I said no at first but then he changed my mind. He told me “when you make someone something it makes them happy, and I just want to make someone happy”…and how could I possibly refuse that?

Huge fan of the @bow_products feather board already and so happy to have received some new ones as mine are slowly wearing out…but I’m most excited to try out this clamp kit with my cnc!

Rubio pure is my favorite finish by far and I knew I wanted to use it on this sign. To make it easier on myself I went in with a brush and did the letters before gluing then did the rest once it was all assembled. The best part about Rubio is you can do this with their oils and you won’t get lap lines!

It’s worth noting that the same isn’t true for precolors - lap lines would occur with those.

Didn’t go out drinking for St Patrick’s day but DID get a move on some shop organization. Took this all down, Nick is putting up some lumber racks, and then I’m organizing alllll the hardwood scraps and off cuts. The piles were getting out of control and a clean and organized shop helps me *relax* into my work. For me, the shop is my happy place, and things like this help it stay that way! How about you?
